International Conference on the Iranian Diaspora, April 18

The conference is a meeting point of academics,
artists, young professionals, writers, students,
filmmakers, and scientists who will be presenting on
various aspects of the Diaspora. As Iranians in the
Diaspora continue to build roots in their new
countries and a generation of hyphenated Iranians
(Iranian-Americans, British-Iranians, French-Iranians,
etc.) enter their mid-twenties, the social and
psychological implications of this new community need
to be addressed.

Dear friends,
The tragic earthquake that hit Bam last December has devastated many lives, among them thousands of children. In the midst of the chaos, compassionate volunteers from the Society For Protecting the Rights of the Child (SPRC) and their international chapter, the Iranian
Children's Rights Society (ICRS) are doing an exemplary job in providing for the needs of these boys and girls.
The Rights of the Child has been founded in 1994, Shirin Ebadi, who won peace nobel prize, is one of founders of society. This society has very great programs for Iranian children. However, right now the greatest project is helping the children of Bam.
(SPRC)is providing a Norouz, Persian new year, it has very fantastic Persian art, traditional dance and music. This a very huge and great program. Society will give lunch at the event.
You may support our society by buy a ticket that is 75$. Program will be from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. The Rights of the Child society will be honored is you can find or make donation for children of Bam.
However, society need students volunteers, you may be a volunteer for set up from 9:00-12:00, or being volunteer for program from 12:00-5:00 PM.

"Kolah Ghermezi" is a puppet character that over the years all kids and many grown-ups have come to love. Finally after several years of attending classes, Redcap manages to pass the exams. Redcap's success delights his family and the people in the neighborhood.But nobody bothers to buy Redcap any presents, except for his uncle who buys Redcap a bicycle because he knows Redcap has always wanted to have a bicycle. The uncle has no friends and his servant had always hoped to inherit the uncle's wealth, so when the uncle announces Redcap will inherit his wealth, suddenley Redcap's bicycle is stolen!

Council of Iranian-American Jewish Organizations (CIAJO) is proud to invite you to two programs in memory of an Iranian hero and savior of lives:
"In memory of Abdol Hossein Sardari"
Iran's Charge de Affair in Paris during World War Two who through his heroic acts saved the lives of hundred of Jews from the Nazis. Both programs are part of the annual Yom Ha Shoah (Holocaust Memorial) programs.
