Abstract
The Life Science Industry continues to be a strong robust sector for investment, business and technology professionals. 2003 was the year Life Science awoke from its slumber. IPO activity increased significantly from previous years. According to the National Venture Capital Association, 2003 investments in US medical device and biotechnology companies were $1.5 billion and $3.3 billion respectively.
2004 continues the investment trend. Life Science companies are riding the wave and are seeking IPOs and acquisition opportunities. Recent activities such as the sale of Novacept to Cytyc, and completion of Anadys Pharmaceuticals initial public offering are examples of a growing investment trend.
Our speaker panel of founder, executive management, and venture capitalist will give us their perspective on 2004 funding trends and growth challenges.
