As you know Iranian Women Studies Foundation (IWSF) hold its 15th annual conference in Berlin from July 2 to 4th. The theme of the conference was "Gender Relation and Modernity in Iran". I know at least Eight of us from Bay Area attended the conference (Nora, Sharareh, Maliheh, Zohre and her sister, Afra, Farideh and myself). So, it will be a great opportunity to hear different opinions and reports from the conference.
The Library in Berkeley is not accepting any reservation in August and September. So, we will have the meeting in Mountain View.
When: Saturday, August 28
Time: 2 -5PM

This concert, A Rose in Love’s Garden, also features Nejad Music Ensemble playing traditional Persian Music along with special guest Mr. Kukoo Singh on Indian Tabla percussion. Persian and Tajik dance performances by the Ballet Afsaneh dance company.

August 28-29, 2004. We will transform the Chicago city Block 37 tents
into a Middle Eastern bazaar showcasing the instrumental and vocal
music, dance, visual and culinary art and literature from the Middle
East and North Africa. This will be an open festival for the City of
Chicago engaging people of all ages to experience a taste of the region
through its art and food. Maggie Daley will be our Honorary Chairperson
and Hollywood Producer Harold Ramis, our Emcee.
