A Presentation of Contemporary Iranian Paintings

This presentation is an overview of contemporary Iranian art. It provides a historical background including its inception, evolution, circumstances before and after the revolution, and a view of today’s Iranian art scene with a special focus on Iranian women artists. The digital, visual presentation will include photographs and videos.
Presenter:
Ms. Homa Taraji is the president of Paradi, an international fine arts organization with focus on contemporary Iranian art. She is a co-founder of The American Foundation for Contemporary Iranian Art (www.afcia.org), a non-profit organization for promotion of contemporary Iranian art in the United States.
The presentation is an introduction to two exhibitions of contemporary Iranian paintings which will open in Lexington and Wellesley September 24 - October 24, 2004.
