List of Persian/Iranian Events for 2004-10-01

This program is geared towards Iranian senior citizens. They will be
taught ESL (English as a Second Language) by Mrs. Allahverdi, who is the
instructor of ESL program. Mrs. Shoushtarian will prepare a light lunch
for you to enjoy a pleasant afternoon. In the next session we will add
Yoga & Meditation and share some health tips with you.

In order to be eligible for a free ride from your home to Khane ye

This program is offered every other Friday (9/17, 10/1, 10/15, 10/29)
from 11:30 - 2:00.

Fee: $10 per individual including meal.

For Laleh and Ladan Bijani, conjoined twin sisters living in Iran, life has never been simple. Although they are similar to other girls their age in many ways, they must constantly confront issues of individual and shared identity as they go about their everyday lives together. Although aware that it could prove fatal for one of them, they hope to one day undergo the operation that will separate them.

Sadly, in July of 2003, four years after this film was made, Ladan and Laleh both lost their lives while undergoing the surgery necessary to separate them.
