Spectular Walk & Afterward Excursion
Come & Join us for Iran Runners & Walkers for our monthly running or walking event at the Stanford Dish/Foothill on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at 11:00 am to 12:45 am.
Also, join us afterward for lunch/brunch at Cafe Renaissance for a delicious Persian cuisine at unbeatable prices located on the heart of beautiful historic downtown Palo Alto.
Please RSVP for this event at iran_runners@yahoo.com as soon as possible seating is limited at the restaurant. Carpool is also available up to three people from Fremont.
About the Dish/Foothills:
A popular respite for students, the foothills habitat conservation area is open to people wanting to jog and hike on trails that pass oak chaparral, grazing land for cattle and beautiful panoramas of Stanford and the San Francisco Bay region (on a clear day the skyscrapers of San Francisco are visible). The Dish is home to a variety of vegetation and wildlife. Look for Valley, Blue, and Coast Live Oaks while on a hike. Birds such as Meadowlarks, Bluebirds and Red-Winged Blackbirds also can be seen (and heard) in the foothills.
Measuring 150 feet in diameter and weighing a massive 300,000 pounds, the radio telescope located in the foothills habitat conservation area, is a popular destination for many Bay Area hikers
