Technology OF The Next Decade
Dr. Hong-Tai Chou & Dr. Mostafa Ronaghi,
Consolidation (i.e. mergers & acquisitions) and commoditization (as reflected in out-sourcing) of a high-tech industry are strong indications of impending transition for the industry. Recent acquisitions of PeopleSoft by Oracle, and Sprint by Nextel are preludes to seismic changes of the high-tech landscape.
Yesterday’s science fictions are tomorrow’s reality. Many exciting and breath-taking advancements
in technologies are already taking shape as part of the next technology revolution. In this opening program for 2005, Dr. Hong-Tai Chou and Dr. Mostafa Ronaghi will share their views and observations of the major
trends and opportunities in the areas of Biotech, Material Science, IT and Nanotech.
Dr. Hong-Tai Chou, received his Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from University of Wisconsin -Madison.
