California Poppies are now blooming and mid-April is the
best time to catch them.

Bring Food and Drinks to Share with at Least 6 People
Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring warm clothes and sun block.
Weather Note: Heavy Rain Cancels
Initial Meeting Point: Balboa Park Tennis Court Parking Lot (South West Lot) at 8:30 AM for meet and greet & ride share. (The Tennis Courts are on Burbank Blvd. west of the Burbank / Balboa intersection in the City of Encino)
This event will be hosted by Arash Davallou, president of the Harvard Persian Alumni Association and member of the Sierra Club.

A Talk by Daryoush Ashouri, prominent Iranian writer
Topic: The Abortive Birth of a Modern Nation: The Constitutional Revolution in Iran and its Aftermath
Daryoush Ashouri has served as a visiting professor and lecturer of Persian language and literature at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Oxford University, and of political philosophy and political sociology at the University of Tehran.
He is the author of ”An Introduction to Sociology", "Modernity and Us", "Dictionary of Philosophy and Political Science", "Political Encyclopedia" among others. He is also a translator of works by Nietzsche, William Shakespeare and Nicola Machiavelli.
