Let Me Tell You Where I've Been: New Writing by Women of the Iranian Diaspora, edited by Persis M. Karim, is an extensive collection of the poetry, fiction, and nonfiction of Iranian women whose lives have been shaped by history, exile, and immigration. In a time when Iran is cited daily in the news and political rhetoric is at an all time high, this collection offers a complex and humanizing literary expression. This evening features writers in the anthology, as well as music celebrating Iranian American culture in the Bay Area. This evening features eight writers in the anthology - Mahru Elahi, Haleh Hatami, Esther Kamkar, Persis M. Karim, Mojdeh Marashi, Sanaz Nikaein, Farnoosh Seifoddini, Shadi Ziaei & Roxanne Varzi - as well as Aleph Null, a live six-piece world music and jazz ensemble celebrating Iranian American culture in the Bay Area.

"[this book offers] a new alternative to the currently politicized and one-sided views on Iran." - Azar Nafisi, author of Reading Lolita In Tehran
