The US plans to control all the energy resources of the Middle East through brutal war! In 2003, Iran proposed a comprehensive "grand bargain" to the US, but the Bush administration ignored it! (see these articles...)
Iran has no nuclear weapons and is not a threat to the U.S. Also, Iran has signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the UN's nuclear watchdog agency has found no nuclear weapons program. Iran's peaceful nuclear power program is for their energy security. Although Iran has lots of oil, they must import refined fuel because of insufficient refining capacity. The US knows very well that the Iranian nuclear energy program is for peaceful purposes because the US helped them build it!
