5th Annual Persian Nowruz Festival By NY Persian Parade

for the 5th consecutive year NY Persian Parade is organizing the largest Nowruz Festival in New York City. Come and celebrate the coming of year 1387 with your friends and family. There will be many colorful floats and dance groups. This year Jimmy Delshad the first elected Iranian- American Mayor of Beverly Hills will be the Grand Marshal of our Nowruz Parade. سیزده بدر) the Persian Festival of "Joy and Solidarity" which occurs on the 13th day of the Persian New Year. ICCNC will celebrate this event on Sunday March 30, 2008 at Lafayette Reservoir, Lafayette. Bring your food, sweets, tea, and games for a fun filled day.

127 is the first underground band from Iran to ever tour the U.S. in 2005. Founded in 2001 by a group of young Tehran artists and art students, 127 has found itself at the center of progressive cultural change in Iran.The band's music melds Iranian melodies and jazz with an alternative sound. The band's lyrics tell of the frustrations and joys of life, somehow managing to speak of their cultural time and place, while simultaneous reflecting universal frustrations of isolation, frustration, and hope. They will be will be on a mini US tour from march 3rd-23rd.
