In celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the "One Million Signatures Campaign" for equality, we have planned a day of art and self-expression and we want you to be a part of it. We are setting up a large canvas in front of the Iranian grocery store Wholesome Choice in Irvine and we are inviting everyone to imagine a world without discrimination and to paint or write their messages for women's rights activists in Iran. Come spend 20 minutes of your Saturday with us and think about your role in building a better community and a better world. We will be there on Saturday August 23rd from 11 AM to 9 PM and you can stop by any time you want.



We will also have a face-painting station for children and also a listening station (Istgahe dard-o-del) where we can listen to and record your real life stories and experiences (whether they are stories of difficulties caused by inequality or stories of strong women in your life who have inspired you- we are ready to listen).



Come visit us on your way to the store, or join us for some tea and a few brush strokes :) We can work together and take another step toward a more just and equal society both in Iran and in Southern California.



We are students and professionals who have formed a local grassroots branch of this campaign in California. We do not pursue any political goals and are not formed around any ideology.







جشن سالگرد کمپين يک ميليون امضا با دعوت مردم به يک پروژه هنری دست جمعی

فعالان کمپين در کاليفرنيا با کمک رهگذران تصوير يک دنيای بدون تبعيض را ترسيم می کنند

روز 27 اوت 2006 مصادف با پنجم شهريور 1385 روز شروع به کار کمپين يک ميليون امضا در ايران است. اين حرکت که توسطجمعی از فعالان حقوق زنان در ايران آغاز شده است فارغ از هر گونه گرايش سياسی وايدئولوژيک، خواهان برابری حقوقی بين زن ومرد در جامعه می باشد. در روز 23 اوت امسال گروه محلی کمپين يک ميليون امضا در جنوب کاليفرنيا برای گراميداشت سالگرد ايندر شهر ارواين Wholesome Choice کمپين دست به يک ابتکار زده است. با نصب يک بوم نقاشی بزرگ در ورودی سوپر مارکتداوطلبان اين گروه از رهگذران درخواست می کنند که دنيايی بدون تبعيض را به تصوير بکشند و نيز پيام های خود را برای فعالين حقوقبرابر در داخل کشور بنويسند. داوطلبان کمپين در کاليفرنيا می گويند: "ما می خواهيم که شهروندان ايرانی مقيم کاليفرنيا حس کنند که درتلاش برای برابری تنها تماشاگرانی منفعل نيستند. بلکه هر فرد کنشگری است سرشار از توانايی و خلاقيت و می تواند در اين تلاشمشترک نقشی بازی کند. اين احساسی است که ما با فعاليت داوطلبانه در کمپين يک ميليون امضا تجربه کرده ايم و اميدواريم که از طريق

اين نقاشی دسته جمعی بتوانيم آن را به ديگران هم منتقل کنيم." فعالان اين کمپين تصميم دارند که علاوه بر پيگيری اهداف کمپين و اطلاع رسانی درباره قوانين تبعيض آميز در ايران، به اطلاع رسانی درباره مسايلی مانند خشونت خانگی در ميان خانواده های ايرانی مقيم کاليفرنيا نيز بپردازند. برنامه های ديگری که در اين محل تدارک ديده شده اند عبارت اند از نقاشی و رنگ آميزی روی صورت برای بچه ها و "ايستگاه درد دل" برای گوش فرا دادن و ضبط خاطرات کسانی که تاثيرتبعيض های جنسيتی را در (face painting)زندگی خود و عزيزانشان ديده اند.

کمپين يک ميليون امضا تلاشی است مدنی و گسترده برای جمع آوري يك ميليون امضا از شهروندان ايرانی در اعتراض به قوانين نابرابر ودرخواست تغيير تمامی قوانينی که بر مبنای جنسيتِ زنان، آنان را مورد تبعيض قرار می دهند نظیر قوانين مربوط به ازدواج، طلاق، سرپرستی فرزندان، سن مسئوليت کيفری، ارث، ديه، تابعيت، شهادت و قوانين حامی قتلهای ناموسی. اين کمپين شامل شبکه ای غير رسمی به وسعت سرزمين ايران و ايرانی های خارج از کشور است. گروه کمپين يک ميليون امضا در جنوبکاليفرنيا متشکل از جمعی از داوطلبان دانشجو و شاغل، سعی برآن دارد که اهداف کلان کمپين را در جامعه ايرانيان کاليفرنيا، به عنوان پرجمعيت ترين جامعه ايرانی خارج از کشور، پيگيری کند.
