Festival of Arts presents The “Late Night Jazz” Concert
In keeping with its mission and tradition of presenting quality and exceptional cultural events to heighten the awareness of the audiences of the rich and diverse cultural legacies of Iran, once again, Festival of Arts takes the lead in inviting one of unique music and dance ensembles for an encore performance to London. The leading artist is the ever fervent singer/dancer Saeeed Shanbezadeh who would be performing at Camden Center on Sept. 29, 2012 in London.
Shanbezadeh who was invited to UK for the first time by the Festival of Arts last year, is being invited back again as the Festival recognizes the cultural significance and genuineness of his music and dance which have their roots from his birth place of province of Bushehr, perched on the edge of the Persian Gulf in Southeastern Iran. Being the cross road on the Persian Gulf, the music of Bushehr is a culmination of influences of Persian, Arabic, African and Indian traditions presented in a dynamic performance by Shanbezadeh with the reedy sound of his goatskin bagpipe (Neyanban), and rhythms of percussion giving the music a Raggaen sound of danceable beats. He performance often draws audiences inexorably into his musical world making it an enchanting interactive exchange much raved by the patrons.
